A Brief History of Smyrna Georgia by William P. Marchione

Smyrna, Georgia also known as the Jonquil City has been witness to many intriguing historical events and notable characters over is long and storied past. In Part’s 1 and 2 of this series I will publish the full first draft of the proposal presented to the city government for the Jonquil City Historical Trail. The proposed trail as originally conceived would extend from the intersection of Atlanta and Windy Hill Roads at Belmont Hills southward all the way to the Creatwood neighborhood, with slight digressions into the Village Green/ Market Village/ Church and King Streets on the western side of Atlanta Road, and the historic Williams Park neighborhood on the eastern side.
